ULLERI CHILDREN’S HOME.

Five hours travel outside of Pokhara, on the road to the Himalayan mountains, lies the hillside village of Ulleri. It is small, but very special to us at Himalayan Life. This is where our Ulleri Children’s Home is located, which currently nurtures and cares for 16 children. These children are looked after by our four amazing house parents. The children receive food, education, and an outpouring of love.

Children who find themselves in our home come from hard pasts and family situations. Whether they have fled places of abuse, neglect or abandonment, the kids find peace and safety from their past within our walls. Watch the film HOME for more information on these situations.

Stories of Renewal.

Though our project in Ulleri may seem small compared to some of our others, it certainly does not lack heart!

A handful of children who once lived in the home have since graduated and now live in the surrounding areas of Pokhara. They are working, in the Vocational Training program at the Himalayan Life Plastics Plant, or are in post-secondary education. We are so proud of their achievements and how they are taking on the challenges and joys of adult life outside of the village.

We are so amazed at the work our staff is doing in Ulleri! All of us at Himalayan Life look forward to many more stories of renewal in the lives of these children!
