Intense Flooding Across the Country
This past weekend, Nepal, India and Bangladesh experienced heavy rains and intense flooding. According to BBC, at least 67 people lost their lives in Nepal in yesterday’s torrential downpour. The total death toll across all affected areas is over 130 people.
The flooding and rainfall has caused much destruction to roads, houses and fields across the country. Though the southern Terai regions are often affected by annual flooding, this year, however, destruction occurred in northern Kathmandu as well. Thousands of people have been displaced as rivers levels remain high.
We have been able to check in with our projects, all of which are safe and well.
