Uni-Hockey In Pokhara

In 2007, Himalayan Life introduced floor hockey to Nepal. Since then, the sport has become increasingly popular amongst thousands of children, particularly in the Pokhara and Chitwan communities. Due to the rampant interest in the sport, hockey fields were built and children gathered together to join teams. With lots of time spent practicing the sport, the Himalayan Life uni-hockey teams quickly began to participate in various leagues throughout their city.

At the beginning of January 2024, Himalayan Life Pokhara organized a girls’ uni-hockey tournament where 35 young women participated in the competition. Coaches and players alike enjoyed the camaraderie and the opportunity to interact with teams from their community, fostering a sense of connection and unity. Not only is hockey a fun sport, but it provides a platform for community building.

Thank you to all the dedicated coaches and leaders who provide a safe and fun environment for children to learn and play! If you’d like to learn more about the community projects in Pokhara and Chitwan, click the button below.
